Sophia

Sophia started her journey with CDTC in our Early Steps program just before turning 3years old.  During this time, she also began coming to our Primary Care clinic where she sees her pediatrician, Dr Robinson.

Sophia has Turner’s syndrome which is a genetic disorder that can cause a variety of medical and developmental issues, but this has not stopped Sophia from living her best life and encouraging others to do the same.  Sophia became part of the ECHO program in 2015, where she began to receive care coordination to help with her medical needs and to assist with the many specialists she sees on a regular basis.

Sophia has been coming to CDTC for her dental care for several years and in the beginning, she would cry when seeing the dentist, but with the care and compassion of her care team, she overcame her fears and is now happy to get her checkups.  Along with the support and care of her grandmother, she has grown into a sweet and confident young lady.

About our Hero of the Month

Each month, CDTC staff nominate one of our children as our  Hero of the Month. These special boys and girls are heroes in our eyes. They show strength, perseverance, determination and a positive outlook while facing great challenges.

Their stories are powerful and heartwarming and reflect the impact CDTC and you, our community, has on their daily lives.

A trip to our Clinic is more than just a doctor’s visit to a child with special healthcare needs.

But, insurance doesn’t cover everything. That’s why your gift is so important.
