Research

CDTC has been an active research site since its inception and is well known as a clinical research site for HIV/AIDS in the United States. CDTC participated in research studies that have impacted infants, children, adolescents and pregnant women throughout the United States and worldwide.

Currently, CDTC is participating in the International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Group (IMPAACT), this network provides access to protocols that involve both treatment and observational studies to significantly decrease the mortality and morbidity associated with HIV disease in pregnant women, children and adolescents. For more information on this network please visit http://www.impaactnetwork.org/.

CDTC was selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study site to participate in three protocols that track the impact and complications associated with HIV and the use of HIV medications. This study will influence future HIV treatment programs for all individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
